    Premier Postcards // Voiceover

OConnellStDUBLINSo in work, January was themed ‘Travel Month’ in association with the Christian Holiday Guide and throughout each week in 2015, there will be ‘audio postcards‘ broadcast referring to different holiday destinations. It’s a ‘what to do in…’ piece.

Of course, with an Irish accent in a London office, I got the job of doing the voiceover and writing the postcard from Dublin. Mentioning alcohol is a bit of a no-no in our organisation so that ruled out the Guinness Storehouse and The Jameson Distillery, I had to get creative and I admit, I’ve never been to the leprechaun museum… oops!

Video // Becca Folkes: It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Sometimes you meet artists who just have it, they have it without even trying. If you want to call it the X Factor, do, but it’s something special. One such artist is Becca Folkes. For Christmas we had some people come into the studio at work and perform a Christmas song. Some did originals, other take on classics.

I never heard of Becca Folkes before that but herself and the people that surround her have everything down to a T! They know what they are supposed to be doing, they’re pros. They come, don’t complain, get stuck into the session and when they the rehearsing stops and the performing starts, they ooze quality, with Becca, the shining star front and centre.

An incredible talent, remember where you heard the name first!

I recorded this track, Mr Phil Maltz, did the magic with the cameras and lights and shiny things..

    Enjoy

Video: Chris De Burgh: There Goes My Heart Again

The legend that is Chris De Burgh came into work to promote his new album. He did a Profile Interview with Justin Brierley, which I recorded. Then, Chris decided to give us all a treat and perform his new single ‘There Goes my Heart Again’, live in our little studio.

Really pleased with how the audio turned out. Obviously, it help that this man has played more concerts and recorded more albums than I’ve had, hot dinners mightn’t be the correct analogy but you know what I mean.

The video was filmed and edited by Phil Maltz.

    Jerusalem Awards: The Results

So a couple of months ago, I was informed that I had been nominated for two Jerusalem Awards, Long Form and Series or Strand. One for Holy Places with Roger & Julia Bolton and for ‘Have we misread the Bible’ with Justin Brierley.

On Holy Places, I did all the editing and post production work, which was a lot of work as everything was recorded on location, then alongside Roger I had to go through all the audio, often hours and hours, to get 26 minutes of audio. There were six episodes in total with guests such as Ann Widdecombe and Rev. Richard Coles.

Have We Misread the Bible, was a series of four parts in which Steve Chalke and Andrew Wilson battled out against each other, expressing their opinions on different subjects.

JerusalemAwardsOn the night, we headed along to BAFTA and the shortlist for each category was reduced to finalists, which I’m delighted to say, both entries were. However, we didn’t win either category. One the upside, Premier won a special award for their contribution to Christian broadcasting.

I did get to bring home a nice certificate for Holy Places and Have We Misread the Bible.. Yay!
