Video // Daniel March and Sam Nafie // Little Drummer Boy

SamNafieDanielMarch2We’ve been hard at work putting together 27 videos for an Advent Calendar, this was today’s.

Sam Nafie and Dan March are two Australians who are based in London. Daniel was in for a solo acoustic session a couple of months ago and we were so impressed that we asked Daniel to come to do another track for us for Advent.

This time, Daniel brought along his mate Sam Nafie for a rendition of the David Bowie / Bing Crosby classic, ‘A Little Drummer Boy’.

Sam has a great voice but Daniel’s guitar playing is outstanding. The audio was also recorded for broadcast for Premier Unsigned at Christmas. Have a look…

Video // simpsontentwelve // Amazing Grace

We had these guys in at work recently. A four piece family band, Mum, Dad, son and daughter. Phil Maltz on lights and cameras, myself on sound. This was recorded live, I was in the room with only my little headphones for isolation. No compressors, no effects, recorded as it happened, as live and raw as it gets. Happy with how it sounds though.

    Video // Christmas Starts with…

One of the campaigns that we’ve been working on in Premier is ‘Christmas starts with Christ’. Basically the idea is to put religion back in Christmas and forget about all the commercialism that surrounds it.

So for this campaign, the video team, Phil and myself, had to come up with a video to show what the campaign was about.

I had the initial idea of a moving street and at the end of the street we find a crib but I had thought that we may need to represent a family, perhaps even have them walking down the street. But within the duration of the video and the visuals of buses and streets, they would have got knocked over!

So here’s one of the videos. Phil Maltz on 3D graphics and I built the soundtrack for the video. Voiceover supplied by Dave Rose.

Video: Chris De Burgh: There Goes My Heart Again

The legend that is Chris De Burgh came into work to promote his new album. He did a Profile Interview with Justin Brierley, which I recorded. Then, Chris decided to give us all a treat and perform his new single ‘There Goes my Heart Again’, live in our little studio.

Really pleased with how the audio turned out. Obviously, it help that this man has played more concerts and recorded more albums than I’ve had, hot dinners mightn’t be the correct analogy but you know what I mean.

The video was filmed and edited by Phil Maltz.
